I also landed a job, but I am technically not hired until I pass a few tests, which won't happen until around Nov-Dec, depending on how fast I can do it. So, when I pass those, I will be working for Ameriprise Financial as a financial advisor, which means I help people plan for their financial future.

That's the biggest news, obviously. If no one leaves a comment, not only will I cry, but I will never write again.

Clubb
Monday, April 10, 2006

http://www.commencement.ilstu.edu/graduate/index.asp

Type in Clubb when you get there.

It's official!!! I am graduating on May 13, 2006 at 4pm. The funny thing is that I probably shouldn't be allowed to. See, we have to apply to graduate. I don't know why, I think it's stupid too. However, I picked up an application and promptly forgot about it. Back on March 20th or so, I found the application and figured I should fill it out. On the application there was this heading that said, "An application must be on file and the graduation fee paid by the deadline to participate in the commencement ceremony and to graduate." But where was this deadline listed? I didn't have a class directory because the university moved it to an online system last year. It wasn't even on the application. I finally found it and the deadline was February 10th.

Oh shit. I called some people (about 20) and they told me to send it in anyways. Lo and Behold I can graduate. Screw the system. I win. It's because I am so awesome.

So, as long as I don't fail my classes, I graduate.

SUTA
Clubb
Wednesday, April 05, 2006

Nothing much is going on right now. I visited Cathy this weekend. We had some good times. Daza's parents are out of town so we partied there on Friday night and chilled there for most of Saturday. Just a fun relaxing weekend as always.

A fun ride home on Sunday night. That huge storm system was pretty nasty. I hit it right about Gary, IN right around the horn of Lake Michigan. I think the storm had gained in its viciousness because of that. Well...its a good thing I was driving into it so it only lasted about 15 minutes. But it was quite nerve-wrecking. Lots of lightning, lots and LOTS of rain. But other than that it was a safe trip. No deer this time.

Other than that...there is a short time left in college. It has been an adventure. Still not over...but I can start to see the finish line. Maybe more later....

Eric
SUTA
Wednesday, March 01, 2006

Way to go Cadets....I'm going to go puke now

Wednesday, March 01, 2006

Got a big midterm tomorrow and another take home midterm next week. BUT, Cathy comes on Friday!!!! Im excited. We get to spend our spring breaks together :) yay!

I saw her last weekend. I had a great time just relaxing with her and whatnot. It's good just to chill with the ones you love.

On a side note, I almost hit a deer at 70 mph on the way back home. I proceeded to spin out on the interstate. Luckily I was around no one and nothing bad happened at all. I guess someone was looking over me at that moment because I am extremely lucky that nothing happened.

That is all, take care and peace out. Not in the beginning where everyone is posing. This is the part where the trumpets take the melody as the move the block across the field with the guard acting as 'shadows'.

the trumpets are facing the endzone and they turn to the stand in the last two counts. Do you know where I am talking about?

Well, methinks that Jay is the front most corner of that block. You can kinda tell the whole time but when they turn you can definately see it. If anyone reads this before camp you should ask him if he's there.

7:35-7:45 in the show...im a dork. To ask him, to make things easier. The arc they form before the push into the wedge, Jay would be on the far left. the last person actually. But i must be off to class now. I need to download 1st through 7th of '92. Because if 8th place was this good....im surprise cavies didnt win with a 102.4 and star right behind with a 101.9

This is the worst injustice I have ever witnessed. There is no way on God's green Earth that this is an 8th place show. DCI can die and burn. If you can listen and/or watch it, please do. Granted the show concept wasn't great. But neither was BD this last year. They still got 4th. I am disgusted right now.

However, tomorrow and this weekend will rock. Going up to MI to see Cathy tomorrow.
I really despise people who have no idea what they are
talking about, yet go on speaking like they do.

I was in work on Monday listening to 101.5, and the emcee was a bonehead. He
was bitching about gas, and the $2.30 mark. What brought this about? Exxon
Mobil announced a 4th quarter profit of $10.5 billion, breaking the old record
of $9 billion set last quarter. (A company record). Remember, this is a profit,
not total sales. Taxes and everything have been taken out. This is pure, 100%
cash for the company.

This guy was bitching about the price of gas when they are reporting record
setting profits. He had callers bitching, his co-workers bitching, and even
himself bitching. But he doesn't understand. At one point, he demanded that
Exxon Mobil take a hit on their profits and lower the price. He demanded that
the government step in as well. He thinks he knows what he is talking about,
but he doesn't. And that bothers the hell out of me. Don't complain and demand
shit if you don't understand what's going on.

I will try to explain this clearly.

First of all, please understand that gas, comes from oil. Oil is traded as a
commodity on the NYSE (a stock exchange). This means that the price of gas
depends on what the price of oil is selling for. Last year at this time, a barrel
of oil was around $35. Now, it's nearing $70. This has been caused not only by
the two Hurricanes this past fall, but also to the industrialization of China. There is
a limited amount of oil in the world. Example, you are sitting at dinner with
your family. There is a bowl of mashed potatoes there. Everyone has plenty of
mashed potatoes and there is even some left over! The next night, you mom loses
a potato or two to a hurricane (just go with it) and your pal Ming Wong from China comes over.
There is far less mashed potatoes to go around. Barely enough in fact. Such is
the issue with oil. Since the supply is low, and demand is high, the price goes
up.

People, it does suck. I am going to Michigan
this weekend and paying over $2 for a gallon of gas blows. But it's life. Exxon
Mobil is profiting from their current situation. Yes. If corn prices suddenly
explode, are we going to punish the farmers and make them lower prices b/c they
are too high? Probably not. It is just a situation that we have to deal with
and understand that there are more people entering the oil market and that
means there is less oil to go around. Which means higher prices.

This emcee/douchebag needs to take an economics course and figure some shit
out. It sucks. But don't demand shit that won't happen. Jesus. In fact, I would
assume that prices will continue to rise since many 3rd and 2nd world countries
are becoming more industrialized through globalization. On top of that, gas prices in Europe are around $5-6 per gallon. Practically tripled.

But, let's do a little evaluation. Gas over pricing vs. other companies. Let's
just assume Exxon really is unfairly profiting and gas should really be back at $1.50
per gallon but is selling at $2.50. That’s around a 160% mark-up

Coca-cola and other water producing facilities. Don't tell me it costs more
that $0.15 a bottle to produce bottled water that people buy for $1.00 in
vending machines. That, my friends, is a 667% mark-up.

Your brand new iPod nano? This costs about $70 to make, but you paid about $200!!! That little gadget is marked up 285%

Those great Nike shoes or Doc Martin's? Those cost around $15 to make depending on where in Asia you want to manufacture these shoes. But we buy those pairs in excess of 100! This is nearly a 700% markup.
People, you drive around in your $50K SUVs, pick up $4 lattes at Starbucks
and complain that gasoline costs $2 per gallon. Imagine if you went
into Starbucks and bought a gallon of Lattes....what would that go for?
$25 per gallon? But you still buy it. Give me a break In fact, if you
adjust for inflation, gas prices are lower than 25 years ago. Believe
it. Gas is right around $2.30 per gallon, and in 1980 it was $2.87
after adjusting for inflation. Because the price per barrel rose from
$30 to about $70, people freaked out. If we
had spread out the increase over 25 years, nobody would have noticed.

Sorry about the rant. I'm done. I hope you learned something. I love you Cathy...can't wait to see you in two days She is by far the bestest girlfriend EVER. (Sorry Neil if you read this, it's the truth).

Clubb - out
